  Kansas City Area Ukulele Groups & Clubs
  Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas are home to a number of Ukulele groups and clubs. How an instrument primarily known for coming from Hawaii ever became popular in the Midwestern U.S. is still a mystery.
The Kansas City Ukesters
The Kansas City Ukesters meet from 6:30 to 8:30pm on the second Monday of each month. The meeting place is St Pius Church, 55th & Woodson, in Mission, Kansas. Don’t let the name fool you, we’re actually rather tame. The UFC is a place where ukulele and music enthusiasts can meet, chat, strum, sing, etc. We are an open jam club with no rules as to format or music styles, although we kinda sorta try to stick the standard circle jam/folk jam format, kinda. All levels of musician are welcome from the very beginner on up. We meet on the 1st & 3rd Sundays, 3:00 at: Chelly's Cafe, 214 W 85th Street KCMO  64114.

STRUM started out 3 years ago as a group of beginners from the
Northland and have morphed into a performing "band" of about a 14 members. STRUM performs at senior homes, ice cream socials, art fairs, private parties and such.
